ccr program

The PMP certification is the most renowned certification for project professionals. Attaining it was not easy; you went through a well-defined process.

Once you achieve this credential you have to keep it active, because the PMP certification is valid for three years.

To maintain, you must complete a CCR (Continuing Certification Requirements) cycle. After you complete this, your credential’s validity will be extended for another three years.

What is the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) Program?

You mustearn 60 PDUsin three years and report them to PMI to renew your credentials. This process is known as the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) Program.

Once you report these PDUs and they are accepted, the validity of your credential is extended and you will get a certificate with a new expiry date.

Your status will be suspended if you do not report 60 PDUs by the time your three years are up. However, you still have 12 months to earn the PDUs and report them to the PMI. This will change your status back to active.

However, you will lose your credential if you’re still not able to fulfill these requirements after this grace period. In this case, you will have to pass the PMP exam again to regain your status as a PMP credential holder.

Please note that your CCR start cycle date is the same as when you passed the exam.

For example, if you passed the exam on January 1st, 2013, your CCR cycle will end on January 1st, 2016. Therefore, you must complete your CCR cycle by December 31st, 2015.
